About the Service: 

 

A patient admitted to our facility under Palliative Care/ End of Life will be  admitted through DSL (Disability Support Link).

 

This support is funded for a maximum of six weeks (42 days). We provide people with humane and dignified support and services as they face a life limiting condition.

We welcome family and whanāu. We want you to feel comfortable and spend quality time with your loved one. Although we are not exceptionally strict on visiting times under palliative care, we do ask all visitors to respect the needs of the patient and of other residents.

After the six-week period, the care will be transferred to a Long-Term Contract via a Needs Assessment. Our staff will discuss this with the patient or their Enduring Power of Attorney.
